About

May is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Awareness Month. Many of you may remember the Ice Bucket Challenge from the videos of people dumping ice water over their heads to promote awareness of ALS and encourage donations to research. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing muscle weakness and eventually leading to paralysis. Living with ALS can be a complicated and overwhelming experience, but thankfully, many support services are available to help individuals and their families cope with the disease. By donating to ALS support services, you can help improve the lives of those living with ALS and provide a sense of hope and support for their loved ones. Medication and therapy can slow ALS and reduce discomfort, but there's no cure. Your donation can make a difference in the lives of those living with ALS and help fund research to find a cure for this devastating disease.
