Facing History and Ourselves Inc.

Facing History and Ourselves uses lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. Facing History uses a unique approach that integrates civics, equity, and social-emotional learning (SEL) into core academic content. When Facing History pedagogy and curriculum are integrated into the classroom, educators provide opportunities for students to develop SEL and civic skills and dispositions, including tolerance and empathy, the ability to communicate across difference, a capacity for ethical reflection, a commitment to the common good, and a belief that each person's choices and actions matter, all of which prepare students to be informed, thoughtful, and productive individuals.

Martin Luther King Jr Center for Non Violent Social Change Inc

Established in 1968 by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, The King Center is dedicated to “educating the world on the life, legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., inspiring new generations to carry forward his unfinished work, strengthening causes and empowering change-makers who are continuing his efforts today.” Its program strategies fall into the following four categories: Nonviolence Education and Training; Youth Leadership Development; Advocacy and Awareness; and Community Engagement. Its mission is to prepare global citizens to create a more just, humane and peaceful world using Dr. King’s nonviolent philosophy and methodology (Nonviolence365®).

NAACP Empowerment Programs, Inc.

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. NAACP Empowerment Programs will engage primarily in training, education, and advocacy, and will continue to work closely with NAACP units in these endeavors. This realignment will help us speak with a more powerful political voice and channel our resources more efficiently.

Youth Service America

Youth Service America believes that youth, communities, and democracy thrive when we all work together for the common good. YSA is a leading global nonprofit that activates young people, ages 5-25, to find their voice, take action, and acquire powerful civic and 21st Century skills as they solve problems facing their communities. YSA supports its activation campaigns with grants, training and resources, and recognition programs for young people and their adult champions. Youth-led projects use Awareness, Service, Advocacy, and Philanthropy (ASAP) strategies to create social and environment change.
