San Diego County has been hit by a series of historically heavy winter storms that have resulted in widespread flooding across our region. Since October 1, San Diego has recorded more than 7 inches of rain with more than 6 inches falling in the last 18 days alone. We could reach our annual average rainfall, 9.79 inches, by February 10. The wettest day, January 22, delivered the highest 24-hour rainfall amounts in San Diego since 1850, according to the National Weather Service, and caused $90 million in damages. The following nonprofit organizations are currently working to provide basic services and aid to those impacted by the record-breaking storms and subsequent flooding.
